“We are living in a new era of human civilization, where mediatization and the internet are pushing people toward new ways of thinking and learning. In this visual age of cultural shift, the emphasis is moving from linguistic and conceptual thinking to creative thinking. Creativity is becoming increasingly valuable—especially in areas where machines are limited or incapable. These abilities can be most effectively developed through the arts, including theatre. That’s why I believe that art education and high-level theatrical culture should have an increasing role in both the educational system and corporate training programs. We must acknowledge this transformation and use it to our advantage. It’s not enough to merely use up and consume traditions and existing knowledge—we should rethink them, and record our new insights in a fresh notebook. For that, we need new paper, new colors, new pencils, and new ideas.”
