The gospel genre of music will include songs of faith, joy, healing and human togetherness. This Gospel Concert is a natural continuation of the musical tradition that Bánk began more than a decade ago. The evening promises to be a true journey for your heart and soul bringing joy, faith, rhythm, peace and harmony, where everyone can find their own inner melody for the upcoming Advent season.
About Singing Sisters
This international ensemble embodies the rousing traditions of African-American religious music, gospel, and spirituals. The driving force and true star of the group is American singer Joan Faulkner, whom the industry simply refers to as “The Voice” and whom audiences may also recognize as the singer of the world-famous Weather Girls. Their performance is a true, unadulterated “gospel extravaganza”: their repertoire ranges from heart-wrenching melodies to the most upbeat, clap-along joyful tunes. Accompanied by the brilliant Csík Gusztáv Trio, they bring a cathartic celebration of joy to Bánk, where the audience and the stage become one in the celebration.
About The Gusztáv Csík Trio
Led by legendary jazz pianist Gusztáv Csík (Gustav Csik), this trio brings the purest and most captivating form of the genre to the stage. Gusztáv Csík’s elegant, virtuoso playing draws on classic swing and the blues, earning him recognition in the international jazz world—over the course of his career, he has performed with icons such as Joe Murányi, Scott Hamilton, and Ken Peplowski. In a concert built on the continuous musical dialogue between the piano, double bass, and drums, the greatest jazz classics come to life. A special highlight of the evening is that the trio’s performance on stage and in life blends perfectly with the evening’s special guest, Gusztáv Csík’s wife, Joan Faulkner.
